Registered Psychotherapist

Making sense of our lives is not an easy task. Each of us finds themselves at the centre of a story that has never been lived or told by anyone else before them. We find ourselves struggling with questions of love, security, responsibility, morality, desire, purpose, shame, guilt, and meaning. Much like a boat moving ceaselessly against the tide, we can spend months or years grappling with these questions, only to find that we’re nowhere closer to finding a sense of peace. Working with a therapist that allows you to feel safe, curious, and vulnerable, is a good first step towards resolving these troubles.

My approach to therapy is based on providing a non-judgmental, empathetic, and supportive therapeutic environment for each client. In my work I take an eclectic approach that combines pieces from several different orientations. This includes the emotionally focused theories of Sue Johnson, the psychodynamic approach of Alfred Adler, the relational theories of John Gottman, my experience working as a behavioural therapist, as well as the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics developed by Dr. Bruce Perry.

Our time together will facilitate this process of self-exploration, giving each one of us insight into who you are, who you want to become, and what we can do to improve your situation. We will develop an awareness of the thoughts, emotions, goals, fears, experiences, and beliefs, that interact to shape the dynamics of your behaviour. Our time together will also seek to explore how these factors shape the way we interact with others and how we can develop more secure and meaningful relationships.
