Psychotherapy  & Naturopathic Services in Etobicoke

This visit is a requirement for all new naturopathic medicine clients.

During this visit, we will go over your intake form, and discuss your health history and goals.

After this initial visit, you will receive a treatment plan outlining next steps.

The Initial Naturopathic Consult is the first step to meeting with a naturopathic doctor and developing your health plan together. It is important that you recognize, or for many of you who have no obvious health concerns, to proactively maintain optimal health.

In the first appointment, your naturopathic doctor will go over the comprehensive intake form you have filled out prior to the appointment. The beauty of meeting with an ND is that they are able to meet with you and understand ‘the full picture’. You do not have to have one, or any, specific area(s) of concern. If you are unsure of what specific areas you would like to focus on, our naturopathic doctor can help you to identify areas that can be improved, and/ or to identify certain risk areas where preventative measures can be put in place to slow or prevent elements of disease or illness.

One of the main goals in meeting with a naturopathic doctor is typically to find the root cause of certain  symptoms you have been experiencing. For example, you might be wanting answers as to why you are experiencing chronic headaches (could be related to a food sensitivity) or stomach pains (could be related to bacteria in the digestive tract).

The Initial visit will be 1.25 hours in length, and can be done in-person or virtually. Our naturopathic doctor will review your health history, symptoms, food, stress, environment, sleep, digestion or anything else that may be relevant to your unique concerns. This may include a physical exam, if necessary, such as checking heart, breathing, etc. Towards the end of the visit, your naturopathic doctor will create a treatment plan that is unique to you. Recommendations might include investigating more internal symptoms through laboratory testing, making some adjustments to your diet, and/ or adding supplements to your daily regimen.

Primary areas of focus in naturopathic medicine:

Digestion: We can help you to create a plan to improve digestive issues such as bloating, constipation, diarrhea, and/or IBS.

Hormonal Health: We can work to regulate hormone levels and optimize a regular 28 day cycle for women. Reduce mood fluctuations and reduce hormonal symptoms like cramping and breast tenderness.

Fertility: Naturopathic doctors can help you to balance hormones, regulate menstrual cycles, and reduce stress. Treatments will also help improve egg health and uterine health by increasing circulation. Pre and post IVF acupuncture is also available.

Stress + Anxiety: We provide acupuncture treatments that can help ease the flow of energy throughout the body, helping to calm the mind and reduce worry and stress.

Sleep: We provide naturopathic recommendations as well as acupuncture treatments that can help to promote deeper sleep and reduce symptoms of insomnia. Part of this process includes balancing hormone and cortisol levels.
