My name is Shannon, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I am acquiring my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and providing counselling in my internship at Balanced Mind and Wellness under the supervision of Carly Clifton.

 

I am here to help you through life’s highs and lows, providing assistance to navigate through the difficult moments in life and celebrating the wins. My approach to therapy is collaborative, wanting to meet you where you are. This involves a holistic, person-centred focus emphasizing empathy and a supportive environment to foster the relationship necessary to help you succeed. Choosing to seek out counselling is a big step, and this journey can lead you to greater success and growth in life. We will focus on your strengths while also leading with compassion and respect.

 

Facing obstacles alone in life can be challenging. My priority is supporting you the way you feel best while collaborating on your goals and navigating the heavy emotions accompanying this. I will draw on the modality that fits your needs, which may include a biopsychosocial approach, mindfulness, narrative therapy, CBT, solution-focused and strength-based therapy.
