How to Start Therapy
We all know the feeling of putting something off ‘until we are ready’. Therapy can be daunting – you...
Read PostPsychotherapy is the practice of spending time with a psychological professional to help assess mental and emotional setbacks. It focuses on specific goals you want to accomplish. There are various forms of therapy, such as: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. Counselling can help you to understand and manage a wide range of emotional difficulties. It can help to develop more concrete steps to solving issues in your life. We can work to manage stress, anxiety, and depression. Counselling can also help individuals to deal with relationship conflicts. Most importantly, we work together to learn skills and coping mechanisms to work through issues or problems you have addressed.
Our therapy services include: individual counselling, couples counselling, relationship therapy, and family counselling. Our approach to psychotherapy and psychological counselling is integrative, collaborative, and active in focusing on the issues identified by you and what works best for you. We are enthusiastic, and respect and appreciate our clients. We will build a relationship with you on a strong foundation of confidentiality, trust, and commitment.
Today, many are turning to naturopathic medicine to deal with persistent conditions and to improve their overall quality of life. An increasing number have seen that naturopathic medicine simply works more effectively, blending conventional and unconventional approaches to healthcare. Naturopathic medicine differs from mainstream medicine by using supplements and botanicals to aid in the body’s natural ability to heal itself in maintaining optimal health, and/or treating and preventing pain and/ or illness. Naturopathic doctors are able to combine a variety of natural therapies to find the approach, or combination of approaches, that will be most effective in meeting the client’s needs.
Acupuncture is a form of Eastern medicine in which we use the body’s natural ability to heal itself to treat many chronic and acute conditions. According to Chinese medicine, an imbalance of ‘chi’ (energy) in a particular meridian (pathway) or organ in your body can cause harmful physical, mental, and emotional symptoms. ‘Chi’ is defined as our energy current that runs through our bodies, providing us with circulation, nutrients, and minerals that we need to be whole. The goal of acupuncture is to restore the body to its natural, healthy state, and to help people achieve a state of zen, or calm.
